About
Great food is made, not manufactured.
Our Origin
Culture Club was born from a simple, flour-covered frustration: the desire to make exceptional, living foods at home, constantly thwarted by expensive equipment, lack of space, and knowledge gaps. Connected to the Living Foods Collective, we realised the solution wasn't for everyone to buy their own commercial bakery, it was to share one.
The Makerspace Model
Think of Culture Club as a gym for your dough. Just as a gym provides the heavy machinery and expert trainers you need to build physical strength, we provide commercial ovens, fermentation chambers, specialist equipment, and Culture Coaches to help you build your food craft.
Why Traditional Foods?
We focus on naturally produced, living foods because they connect craft, culture, ingredients, and community. Phase 1 focuses on Artisan Baking, Fermentation, and Cultured Dairy. Our Phase 2 vision includes advanced cheese making and expanding our network of makerspaces.
Vision & Mission
Our Vision
To build Africa's leading community of artisan food makers and create places where people can learn, make, and share naturally produced food.
Our Mission
To make professional food-making facilities, equipment, and knowledge accessible to ordinary people while building a community around traditional food craft, fermentation, and better ingredients.
Our Brand Values
- Craft over manufacturing: We believe in slow, intentional, and traditional methods. ("Manufactured" is a word used for cheese spreads, not real cheese.)
- Community over competition: We share knowledge, starters, and successes.
- Knowledge sharing: Expertise is meant to be passed down and shared, not hoarded.
- Food traceability and quality: We know exactly where our ingredients come from.
- Accessibility: Professional food craft should be open to everyone, not just those with industrial-sized kitchens.
